The Annual College Forum: Spring Plenary 2018

College of Arts and Humanities | ARHU Collegiate Council Tuesday, April 3, 2018 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm Ulrich Recital Hall,

The Annual College Forum: Spring Plenary 2018
"Arts and Humanities Solutions for Hate, Violence and Other Inappropriate Behaviors"

For a LIVE STREAM and VIDEO of this event, please visit: www.go.umd.edu/fgn.

The College of Arts & Humanities (ARHU) community is invited to attend the Annual College Forum presented by ARHU’s Collegiate Council. In this year when issues raised by the #MeToo movement, political tensions, the limits of free speech and episodes of violence have drawn national attention, the Council has also invited three experts to identify areas where these issues may affect the safety, security or civil rights of University students, staff and faculty—and to help find ways that the arts and humanities community can make a positive difference.

We invite all members of the ARHU community to share in this unique opportunity to learn from Professors Ana Patricia Rodríguez and Carol Stabile, as well as Chief Diversity Officer Roger Worthington, and to share your own thoughts on these important matters.

The Annual College Forum provides an opportunity for faculty and staff in the college to ask questions of the sitting Dean regarding a topic of current interest.

Participants:

Dr. Roger Worthington, Chief Diversity Officer and Associate Provost Dr. Carol Stabile, Professor and Chair, Department of Women's Studies Dr. Ana Patricia Rodríguez, Associate Professor, Department of Spanish and Portuguese, School of Languages, Literature, and Cultures
