2	essic.umd.edu	The Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center (ESSIC) is a joint center together with the Cooperative Institute for Satellite Earth System Studies (CISESS) at the University of Maryland (UMD). ESSIC is funded by NASA/GSFC, NOAA NCEP&NESDIS. It is the largest research unit in terms of annual research budget at UMD. It is located adjacent to NOAA NCEP&NESDIS.
3		Our distinguished speakers include National Academies members, Nobel Prize winners. The topics cover a broad range of Earth science studies and bring unique interdisciplinary views to the science community and the public. The seminar event is broadcast to over 1500 email recipients across the world including UMD, NOAA NCEP&NESDIS, NASA/GSFC, PNNL/JGCRI, etc. In addition to email recipients, the event is also distributed to the seminar calendar of the Earth Sciences Division (code 610) of NASA/GSFC with over one thousand scientists. Webinar is provided.
