Please join us for a reception celebrating Ben Shneiderman, the founder of the Human-Computer Interaction Lab at the UMD College of Information Studies, and his contributions to data visualization through the development of treemaps. The evening will highlight Shneiderman’s award-winning work pioneering the treemap software as well as the 12 creative artworks that he produced using it. He will give a short talk explaining the treemap idea and the artwork it inspired.
