Room Technical Capabilities
Fourth Floor Lounge - informal events / meetings with no technical component.

Fourth Floor Classroom - group hybrid video conferencing capability with up to 12 local in-room attendees and infinite remote participants; alternatively, a lecture-style classroom with a lectern and integrated room PC. 

Small Conference Room - formal, small, in-person meetings with room PC, laptop dongle (HDMI) and projector; limited remote attendee support: teleconferencing phone support only; no room mics or camera.

Main Conference Room - in-person presentation-lecture space with broadcast capability (integrated room PC,  projector, camera and mics); limited interactive discussions between in-room participants and remote attendees.
Meeting Equipment and IT Needs
ESSIC's conference rooms have different technological capabilities. If you require technical assistance for the room you are reserving, please submit a ticket with the ESSIC Helpdesk detailing your IT needs. Without the timely submission of an IT ticket that allows for appropriate consult and discussion, we cannot assure the best possible room match and experience or guarantee that technical support will be available. With the ticket, include the following information:
  1. What room are you reserving?
  2. How many in-person guests are you expecting?
  3. Will there be a hybrid component to this meeting?
  4. Will you require Internet for attendees from outside of UMD?
  5. [If hybrid] Do you require back-and-forth conversation with your remote attendees? (As opposed to a broadcast seminar-style presentation)
If you have complex technical needs for your meeting, a consultation with OITC prior to reservation is highly recommended.

Note:  ESSIC conferencing systems and in-house technical expertise are optimized for use with the campus-supported Zoom package. Groups may employ their own video-conferencing packages or standards, but we cannot guarantee seamless integration of room peripherals or offer technical usage support.
