TerpsVote | CivIC Election Worker Registration
TerpsVote and the Civic Innovation Center at the UMD School of Public Policy are coordinating with the Maryland State Board of Elections (SBE) to create a central repository to match interested Maryland students, staff, and faculty with counties that need general election workers. To be eligible to serve as a paid election judge, individuals must be registered to vote in the State of Maryland. Sixteen year olds may serve if they demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the county Board of Elections, that they meet the requirements for an election judge and at least one parent or guardian gives permission. Additionally, pages who are 14-15 year olds may serve and receive service-learning credit.

Interested members of the community should use this form to indicate to SBE their interest in serving.  Election judges are paid for the day(s) they serve and for training. They can indicate if they are willing to serve in a county outside their home county or precinct. Once this information is made available to counties, individuals will be notified by those counties that need workers. At that point, individuals may decide whether they are able to serve in the county where there is need.  Some counties will be training judges until the week prior to the election, but it is best to sign up early!
