The Department of Art History and Archaeology at the University of Maryland, College Park, and the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts at the National Gallery of Art are pleased to announce the 48th annual sessions of the Middle Atlantic Symposium in the History of Art. The symposium will be held on Friday and Saturday, March 2nd and 3rd, 2018. This year’s speakers represent University of Delaware, Duke University, Emory University, Pennsylvania State University, the University of Maryland, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Pittsburgh, and Virginia Commonwealth University.
Professor Krista Thompson, Department of Art History, Northwestern University will deliver the George Levitine Lecture on Friday evening at the University of Maryland. The lecture will be followed by dinner at Adele’s Restaurant on campus. Student papers will be presented the next day at the National Gallery of Art, followed by a reception at the conclusion of the afternoon session.
